 Welcome to my blog, i am Sebastian Methner, also known as XebastYan. Born summer of 1973. Infected by photography; a skilled optician and deputy general manager at a camera store. Living in a small town in germany. My father is also a passionate photographer and so I was  involved in photography from childhood on. I began with a silly Agfa Pocket, went on to grandpa’s Kodak Retina Rangefinder, later to father’s Minolta XE-1. Today i work mostly digital with the Pentax K-x, the Olympus E-P1, Lumix G1 and a range of analogue cameras. Mainly Landscape, Architecture &  Street Photography. I am also teaching workshops in photography for beginners and advanced.

This blog will be updated  irregular.

ON WORKFLOW

My regular workflow is shooting in RAW and doing postprocessing in different RAW-Software. I mostly shoot in resolutions of 6, 10 or 12 Megapixels, depending on the camera i used. Photographs from my vintage analogue cameras scanned professional with a resolution up to 39 Megapixels (without interpolation!)

ON PRINTS

Some of you who checked my portfolio asked me about prints to decorate their homes and offices. I let print on archival Kodak Professional Paper with a resolution of 640dpi made by a lab with a brand new Noritsu Minilab. The Quality is stunning, they look very nice in color and also in black and white with very good sharpness and tonality on a matte archival Kodak Professional Paper. You can order them by email by telling me which photograph and size. Sizes can be done in height  20cm or 30cm. The lenght differs depending on the aspect ratio or the crop. You also can ask me by email about the real end-size.

ON FRAMES

If you want it framed, with or without passepartouts, i will let frame for you by a professional framing studio. If you want highest quality the Glass of the frame can be “SCHOTT MIROGARD® GLASS”  which is High Grade Coated against reflections.
