XM020057 lurking | Leica Elmar 1:3,5/5cm

Zoo in Basel, Suisse. We found out that the dangerous animals mostly are very relaxed. This Crocodile has some of the most scary teeth. There were children in fear, although this crocodile is behind thick glass.

Also i am really crazy about the old Leica Elmar, stunning.

As always, also available as a print.

This is from last weeks walk into a near forest. The mood was like looking into a fairy tale forest. What’s awaiting after following the soft red arrow?

As always, also available as a print.

some thoughts on the Olympus E-Px Pen Series

Posted in colour, E-P1 photos, photography, reviews by XebastYan Photography on 01/14/2010

These Days the Olympus E-P2 is available in Germany. Our local Dealer has 3 Models in Stock, so i have seen and tried the new E-P2. Do I want to change and spend some new 849€ for the Body and the Viewfinder? First of all, the E-P2 Viewfinder is pretty pretty good. Amazing, stunning, best electronic viewfinder ever! I tried a vintage Minolta Lens and also without magnification view it is easily possible to focus with it. The picture in it is really glaring. In my opinion a bit too much, but it is perfect. Do i want it? Yes i want, but i don’t want to spend so much money to buy the body with it. It isn’t a nice thing that Olympus politics wants me and you E-P1 users to buy a new camera only to get this super viewfinder….. so, not with me. I like my E-P1 very much and for me and the others out there Olympus released the second firmwareupdate 1.2. Just installed, my opinion is again a bit faster AF and yes magnification view is also faster, but not with vintage lenses. Still it needs two clicks to get in and out of the magnification screen. Shame about Olympus. Why not fixed this? And why not implemented the new Art Filters, manual video control and i-enhance of the E-P2 into the E-P1? Wasn’t our money not enough to make you do this? Or do we have to wait for Firmware 1.3. This would be nice and i would think, yes, buying an Olympus Micro Four thirds is a more timeless invest.
